1. The service

FinParse is a free, browser-based tool that extracts transaction data from bank statement PDFs and exports it as Excel or CSV files. Processing takes place on your device, as described in the privacy policy.

2. Acceptable use

You agree to use FinParse only for lawful purposes. In particular, you agree:

• to process only documents that you own or are authorised to process;
• not to use converted data to create, alter or misrepresent financial documents, or for fraud of any kind;
• not to attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the website or its hosting;
• not to copy or redistribute the website’s content or branding in a way that suggests you are FinParse.

3. Tool limitations

Bank statements vary widely in layout. FinParse uses a general-purpose parser and does not support every layout. Scanned statements rely on optical character recognition, which can misread characters. File size, page count and device memory limits apply. Features may change or be removed.

4. No guarantee of extraction accuracy

FinParse is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee that extracted transactions, amounts, dates, balances or totals are complete or correct. Balance checks and review markers are aids, not guarantees.

5. Your responsibility

You are responsible for reviewing converted data against your original statement before relying on it, and for any decisions made using that data. The original statement issued by your bank remains the authoritative record.

6. Financial data responsibility

Because processing happens on your device, you remain in control of your statements and of the files you download. You are responsible for keeping your device, browser and downloaded files secure, and for complying with any obligations that apply to data you process – for example, professional or data-protection obligations when handling a client’s statements.

7. Not financial, tax or legal advice

FinParse converts data. Nothing on this website is financial, tax, accounting or legal advice. Consult a qualified professional for advice about your situation.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FinParse and its operators are not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of, or inability to use, the website or the data it produces, including errors or omissions in converted data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Third-party software

FinParse includes open-source software, including PDF.js, Tesseract.js and SheetJS, which are provided under their respective licences.

10. Changes to the service and these terms

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service, and we may update these terms. Continued use of the website after changes are published means you accept the updated terms.
